Coffee:

With 56 billion cups consumed globally, coffee exports rose by 8.9% to €2.66 billion.

Baked Goods:

Including biscuits, crackers, and holiday sweets like panettone and pandoro, this category grew by 13.3%, totaling €4.3 billion.

Chocolate and Cocoa:

Chocolate bar exports reached 4 billion units, with a 17.2% increase in value to €2.88 billion.

Cheese:

Aged cheeses rose by 7.5%, and fresh cheeses by 6%, reflecting strong demand for authentic dairy products.

Olive Oil:

One of the standout performers, olive oil exports surged by 64%.

Other Segments: Sauces, breakfast cereals, savory snacks, ice cream, and food supplements also posted significant gains.

Italy’s food exports reached consumers across the globe, with the following countries leading in demand:

United States: Up 17% year-over-year, driven by wine, olive oil, and pasta.

Germany and France: Long-standing partners, maintaining top positions in import volume.

United Kingdom, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Austria: These European markets continue to show strong appetite for Italian food products.

Japan and Australia: Notable rebounds in 2024, with Japan’s imports climbing nearly 50% after a previous slump.
